The Department of Music presents numerous performances each year, including recitals by faculty members, students, and guest artists, and concerts by large and small ensembles.

Tickets and Subscriptions

Single Tickets - Adults $15   Seniors and non-MtA students $10   Family $30
Subscriptions - Adults $60   Seniors and non-MtA students $30   Family $90

All concerts are free for current ºìÌÒÊÓÆµ students with valid ID card.

Proceeds from these ticket and subscription sales support Music Department student scholarships. Tickets and subscriptions may be purchased through the Music Department and at the door.

Sackville Festival of Early Music:

British soprano Dame Emma Kirkby (DBE, Queen’s Medal for Music), who has gained recognition world-wide as one of the leading interpreters of Renaissance and Baroque music, will open festival 2025. Kirkby will present a concert of songs for soprano and archlute, in collaboration with Canadian lutenist Lucas Harris (Toronto ON) and British-Canadian baritone Alexander Dobson along our festival theme of Roots | Racines.

SATURDAY,
SEPTEMBER 27

Sackville Festival of Early Music:

This concert will showcase our Ensemble SFEM, a chamber group of historically informed performers led by renowned Canadian Baroque violinist and SFEM Artistic Director Jimin Shin Dobson (Sackville NB). They will present an elegant sampling of music from the French Baroque period. Our Ensemble SFEM initiative is a new vehicle for nourishing collaboration between local historically informed musicians in New Brunswick and those from the national scene.

SUNDAY,
SEPTEMBER 28

Sackville Festival of Early Music:

Festival 2025 will close with our final and third concert featuring the Choeur Louisbourg, an Acadian professional chamber choir based in Moncton New Brunswick, under the artistic direction of Monique Richard. The choir shares roots with the festival, as both were founded by one of New Brunswick’s leading Francophone arts leaders, Réjean Poirier. We are excited to collaborate with Choeur Louisburg for our Roots | Racines season, and the choir will present a celebratory concert of Italian Renaissance choral music in collaboration with select members of Ensemble SFEM.
